I've been sober, it'll be 28 years in September of this year. And reality, as far as I can tell, has not changed. One wit, it's exactly the same as it always was, but I sleep better.
I was raised on the water in Frenchman's bay working on the boat with my dad when I was a kid and it just kind of came natural. I moved away for a bit from Maine when I was first married, came back from Portland, Oregon, actually from the city, moved right back to the Sullivan area and went right to work on a lobster boat. That was a huge mind shift. I really appreciated it more from being in the city, moving back to the country.
We take surgical tweezers and we pick that chaff out by hand. And that was another thing was like, that's crazy. You can't do that. In fact, you do do that, and that is the way that you maintain some of the landline.
