I can stare most people need to wear sunglasses. I never wear them. I love looking directly at the sun sparkles on the water. I just find it to be so healing. It fills me with joy.
It's very hard for people to relate to an issue unless you can bring it down and make it real for them. So when you start giving them an example of a situation that's very similar to their daughter's situation or their mother's situation, and it's touching all aspects of our society, people with all socioeconomic status, people with all different backgrounds, and that is where the rubber hits the road, that's when it becomes really real and people pay attention to it.
When I started painting, I realized I love this. It feels so meditative, it's such an escape after working all day and with everything going on in the world.
