Thoughtful conversations with the people of Maine

I try to sign out of each day with exploration. Get a cup of coffee and go sit outside and just look at things for awhile, to sit and just practice looking. Usually it doesn't take long, but something clicks with that process of looking.

Part of healing from an experience like that has to include rest and recuperation. Your body can't heal if it's continuously your nervous system's continuously in fight or flight. That's why we are seeing healthcare providers that are burning out or leaving the profession completely to do something entirely different or just really struggling is because they haven't had the chance to heal and recuperate.

There's no way that you can digest years of work in a minute. You can get the gist of it, but not the full body or the breadth of it. The weight of it.
