We wanted to make sure it was more than just a statement people were signing onto, but a pledge to really look internally in their own organizations and figure out what they can do, whether it's around hiring practices or just making their organization a more welcoming organization for people of color.

When a student is given the opportunity to shine from within all the learning just unfolds all the connection in the classroom. A lot of times the behavior issues that might be there disappear.
