Thoughtful conversations with the people of Maine

I don't want motherhood to be my identity and it couldn't be, I needed to have something that was me. My art is mine and my children aren't, my children aren't mine, but my art is, and I need that because it's been my identity.

All art isn't necessarily original. There is always a point of reference and a point of context.

The people that have organized in Cancer Alley are people who had no experience organizing. They had no connections to anyone in authority, and they had no money. They said, no, we deserve clean air and clean water here in our community, and we're going to stand up and we're not going to stop until we get that.
