Thoughtful conversations with the people of Maine

The biggest reward of the work that we do is being able to learn from the people, whether this is scripted narrative work or commercial work or nonfiction work. Anytime that you are observing the patterns and characteristics of a subject, you are learning from something that's outside of your own experience.

My identity doesn't have to have a label, I don't think. If it's connection with people, I have a lot of relationships with a lot of different people. That's who I am, that's my identity, I think, is just the connection, the people I have relationships with.

I think that the eastern cultures are so beautiful to me, and I have been, they've resonated for me for a long time, but of course they're not my cultures. So it's just always been this idea of trying to combine eastern and western images since I obviously grew up in the West.
