Thoughtful conversations with the people of Maine

You look at it and you say, wait a minute, stones aren't supposed to move, but they're balanced. The largest ones I've done are 20 pound stones on a stainless steel rod, think of the torque and the slightest breeze, those stones are just moving a little bit.

The poppies for me are about rebirth after what seems like a death. It's this metaphor that we all go through periods of winter, periods where we're sad and things aren't going the way we want. It's this reminder that there are surprises around the corner, that there are delights just waiting for us.

I don't think I would have ever become an artist. Had I not moved to Maine because I didn't start painting until I was 40.
