I think it's probably like 10% equipment in technology and 90% the relationship you build with the person you're photographing.

I really do love the blurry, ethereal kind of feeling to landscape where it's defined enough for you to know what it is, but there's so much room for your own interpretation or for you to put your own feelings or memories into the landscape.

I would get letters, emails from people saying, oh, this reminds me of a farm house I grew up in. That just made me want to do it more, you know, I thought, well, you know, this is what I want to do.
