Thoughtful conversations with the people of Maine

I heavily edit my work, landscapes. I take out a lot of extraneous detail and bring it down to what just very minimal image. I just try to get it down to the very essence of what I'm trying to say in the painting.

Joy is resistance really helps us to stay grounded. Despite what's going on around us, we can control the lens for which we are seeing the world.

If you're going to do drug discovery, you were jumping into something completely new knowing that you may very well fail, and trying to go somewhere where no one's gone before. It was very similar to when I eventually stepped away from that life into art, it was jumping into something completely new where I had no idea whether or not there would be a success or failure.
