I think art brings joy to folks. I think art also can create curiosity. It can ignite conversations, and that in a way can bring people together. And I feel like when people are together and are connected, we're creating a sort of a sense of balance and healing through connection.
I just think plants kind of show the whole life cycle in seasons. And to me that's a very hopeful message. Seeds look dead. They're crumpled and shriveled, but they've got DNA in them and they create more life. And so maybe it's like we have many lifetimes.
Hospitals are paid to treat disease, they're not paid to prevent it. MaineHealth has worked toward the social determinants and trying to reach out to the communities and help them in terms of nutrition, in terms of education, in terms of transportation, access to primary care.
