Thoughtful conversations with the people of Maine

I was a pediatrician for about 20 years in clinical practice, most of it in hospitals. I think I really experienced a lot of that extreme fatigue being a hospitalist. I was working half day shifts, half night shifts. So for about 10 years I didn't really get very good sleep at all.

People said they felt like they had been abandoned by the environmental community, not necessarily that they weren't getting what they needed, but that they weren't being heard. They weren't being asked for input, they weren't being asked to contribute to the solutions.

If someone gets the sense that the relationship is transactional in nature, really think about that. They want my money. This is just in and out. Nothing personal about the experience. I'm wobbly elsewhere. I wanna go someplace where someone knows who I am, uses my preferred name, remembers things about what I shared with them the last time.
